Gender Identity Group- Okanagan

This is a positive, safe, inclusive, supportive space for trans people living in or near Kelowna or the Okanagan area to discuss matters and various topics while providing and obtaining peer support. The minimum age is 16 however if you find yourself in a situation, regardless of age, where you need support, please do not hesitate to reach out. We would never turn someone away.

Mens Health Initiative

The Mens Health Initiative (MHI) program provides services to any and all queer men in the Interior BC. The key issues that it hopes to address are accessibility and support for queer men accessing healthcare, with a focus on sexual health, HIV/AIDS, & Hep C; addressing gaps in queer men’s connectivity and networking in the area; and providing education and community outreach to individuals, service providers, and businesses in regard to queer men’s issues and needs. These can be summarized by 3 categories: Healthcare and Wellbeing, Connectivity, and Education and Community. This includes support related, but not limited to, connection to STI testing and treatment for queer men, PrEP/PEP access and resources, queer competency workshops, for individuals and service providers, networking events, advocacy and education on HIV medication, treatment, and prevention.

Safe Spaces - Kamloops

Safe Spaces is a service for youth up to 26 years of age who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, two spirit, queer or questioning and their allies. A youth-driven, drop in group meets once a week in a space that offers a resource library, sketch pads & other art supplies, a wii, dvd's, board games and several comfortable couches! A coordinator is available for one to one appointments as required and attends all group functions. Safe Spaces also provides workshops and presentations in Kamloops and surrounding communities.
